He guys, it's really Matt writing this time.  It's been awhile since my last blog.  Things have been crazy over the past week.  I've been putting my record collection in alphabetical order.  The alaphabet, in case you don't know, goes like this:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
 
Any bands with names starting with numbers would go before the letter A.  It is kind of a complex system, otherwise I'd go into it more.
 
During my sorting, I found a hidden gem:  an autographed copy of the 1980 Barnes and Barnes ablum "Voobaha," which contained the single Fish Heads.  Amazing!

Hey everyone-it is actually me really writing the blog today...
 
Yesterday was a good day, even though the weather completely sucked and will be generally awful all week. Yet, I feel guilty to complain-especially when you see what's going on in Missisippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.
After Leslie and I finished the show, I headed over to Atlantic Studios to record the National Radio Special with Death Cab For Cutie, celebrating the release of their new seventh album, Codes And Keys. I met Death Cab in the early 2000's when i was getting on a plane in Seattle after the wedding of ex-Acceptance lead singer Jason Vena. The band was standing in the doorway of the plane and introduced themsleves as fans of 120 Minutes. Join me tonight at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square at 7pm.  I'll be interviewing Scott Weiland, and he'll be selling his new book.  Scott and I are old pals.  In the summer of 1993 we spent pretty much every day together, listening to records, eating soft serve ice cream, dancing at The Melody, swimming, watcing movies, and just enjoying life.  With that kind of relationship, you know there will be magic tonight.

Matt & Leslie - 5.16.2011 - How to Prevent Enamel Loss

Hey guys!  My dentist just shared some AMAZING information with on how to keep the enamel on your teeth fresh and glimmering:  Don't grind your teeth!
 
I constantly grind my teeth, and my dentist, Herman Malconime just laid into me, screaming that I'm ruining mouth.  Soon, I will have no grooves left in my molars, he claims, and I'll only be able to eat pudding and ice cream and soup.  That doesn't sound like a bad existence, nor is it much different than the way I live my life now.  He thinks it's a negative.  He's wrong.
 
Today's show was pretty amazing.  I don't use that word often, so you know I'm telling the truth.  Moby was in-studio, and played a special cover of "Whole Lotta Love," dedicated to me.  You can watch a video of the performance here.

I've lost my voice.  If found, please return to Matt Pinfield.  That's me.  I'm Matt Pinfield.  And my voice is my career.  Oh god!  Where has it gone?  I try to speak, but nothing comes out.  Someone get me a tea.  I'm really freaking out.  I've read stories about people losing their voices and never having them return, or if they do return, they sound completely different than before.  Breathe.  Breathe.  Breathe.  I can't breathe.  This is bad.  I have to go.

Someone recently shared this scary and eye-opening poem with me, which has caused me to forever change my ways.  I'm sharing it with you, as I don't want any dangers to cross your path.  You need to remain vigilant and realize that the world is not always as safe as it may seem:

Inside everybody's nose
There lives a sharp-toothed snail.
So if you stick your finger in,
He may bite off your nail.
Stick it farther up inside,
And he may bite your ring off.
Stick it all the way, and he
May bite the whole darn thing off.

Crazy.

Matt & Leslie - 5.9.2011 - I've returned, with more to love

Whoa.  What a difference a week off makes.  I'm feeling refreshed and re-energized.  I spent the past few days in Harrison, New Jersey.  I ate nothing but hot dogs and pizza and ice cream.  When I take time away from work, that means ALL work, including working out.  People claim that such poor eating habits would leave me feeling like a pile of dog crap, but the truth is, I've never felt better.  Let's go!
 
And go we will!
 
This week, Leslie and I have tickets to see Kings Of Leon and Band Of Horses.  You can ride with wild stallions with your band of brothers into the battle known as a concert that will prove to be the greates aural battle of your life!  What does that mean?  I have no idea.  All I know is that you'll get to attend the concert.  There really aren't any ...
